DTM racing cars with Bosch branding

DTM

As a strong DTM partner, Bosch has supplied manufacturers with winning technology for more than 20 years.

The partnership between Bosch and the DTM goes way back to the year 2000. Since then, Bosch has been the exclusive supplier of engine management, driver’s displays and much more. Every day we strive to enhance the performance of the race cars for a vigorous competition, giving everyone involved a spectacular experience.

A perspective into the endurance of a DTM car.

Let’s take a deeper look into the things that a DTM race car has to endure.

DTM racing cars

High performance

Intense acceleration, fast braking, sharp turns — a DTM race car is constantly working at peak performance levels during a race. Each and every small detail can make the difference on the track. A reliable car and working components are crucial for success

DTM car with a flame

Temperature

Each race car has to endure extreme temperatures during a competition: components like brakes and the exhaust system are exposed to up to 1,000°C. The blazing heat from the outside also affects technical systems and shows how important reliable, heat-resistant components are.

Dirt

The conditions on the circuit are vastly different from a normal road. Flying particles, the dirt from the track and the clutch dust get into almost every gap. Strong insulation is an important part of successful performance under these conditions.

Humidity

Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather. As a result, highly sensitive electronic components should always be protected from extreme humidity or possible water damage.

G-forces and vibrations

G-forces and vibrations

Vibrations and strong centrifugal forces act on a vehicle during a race. It’s important that all components stay in place and endure the exposure to these extreme movements. Testing and optimizing is the key.
