Extensive transfer of know-how between motorsports and volume production guarantees a high degree of efficiency and vehicle performance.

The efficiency of the electronics system is jointly responsible for success. And it is precisely here that the renowned US racing team DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT is focusing its hopes on a long-term technology and development partnership with Bosch beginning in 2021.

The common objective: to raise power while achieving maximum efficiency at the same time. To this end, Bosch is developing an electronic vehicle management system with hardware and software components specially tailored to the requirements of the Formula E race car. The brain of the system is the central vehicle control unit MS 50.4P, which, together with numerous sensors, not only provides relevant analysis data, but also manages the ideal balance between energy efficiency and lap time.

And the next milestone is already in the starting grid. For season 9, Bosch – in addition to its successful engagement as a series partner of Formula E – is planning the development of a complete electric powertrain for the third generation of the Formula E race car together with DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT.
