Achieving more performance together
As the first technical partnership in electric motorsports, Bosch is joining forces with the DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT team for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Together, we are developing the perfect balance between power and efficiency.
Partnership between DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT and Bosch
Extensive transfer of know-how between motorsports and volume production guarantees a high degree of efficiency and vehicle performance.
The efficiency of the electronics system is jointly responsible for success. And it is precisely here that the renowned US racing team DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT is focusing its hopes on a long-term technology and development partnership with Bosch beginning in 2021.
The common objective: to raise power while achieving maximum efficiency at the same time. To this end, Bosch is developing an electronic vehicle management system with hardware and software components specially tailored to the requirements of the Formula E race car. The brain of the system is the central vehicle control unit MS 50.4P, which, together with numerous sensors, not only provides relevant analysis data, but also manages the ideal balance between energy efficiency and lap time.
And the next milestone is already in the starting grid. For season 9, Bosch – in addition to its successful engagement as a series partner of Formula E – is planning the development of a complete electric powertrain for the third generation of the Formula E race car together with DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT.
A partnership that combines efficiency with power.
Expertise and the highest standards in technology are the common strengths that unite DRAGON / PENSKE AUTOSPORT and Bosch Motorsport.
A complete system covering all parameters.
With the central vehicle control unit, Bosch Motorsport not only offers the brain of the vehicle electronics, but also provides the team with innovative data transmission and analysis tools for vehicle testing, in addition to other components.
Expertise driving in success for 120 years.
Bosch has contributed to shaping the history of motorsports from the beginning and combines many years of experience in racing with the necessary software and system expertise.
