With the new ABS M5 kit, Bosch Motorsport adapted an ABS system specifically for motorsport use, which offers engineers a high level of flexibility during car setup. The revised ABS control algorithm and completely new hardware ensure improved wheel slip control and enhance the brake performance. The system is suitable for front-wheel, rear-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles. Individual car parameters like e.g. vehicle weight, vehicle track, wheel weights, wheel circumferences, wheel base or number of increments can be calibrated with software free of charge.
Focusing on driving motorsport forward, Bosch Motorsport developed the Collision Avoidance System 3 (CAS-M3) to keep drivers safe on the track. Honored with the Professional MotorSport World Expo Award 2017, the cutting-edge system optimizes the drivers’ visualization and, therefore, safety during the race.
The Collision Avoidance System CAS-M3 enables real-time visualization during the race, warning the driver about approaching or overtaking cars.
Therefore, it increases safety and helps the driver focus on the track. For a wider field of view in close-up range, the system combines a rearview camera and a radar sensor. A high-performance display visualizes and tracks rear traffic and approaching cars. Thus, the driver can monitor at a glance how many cars are following and can classify them depending on distance and relative speed. The radar keeps track of to 40 objects and highlights up to four objects on the display. If another car attempts a passing maneuver, bright flashing LEDs alert the driver. In an effort to keep the driver safe throughout the race, all the features, including the camera, are optimized to continue working even in darkness, mist or rain. The CAS-M 3 system is fully integrated in the Bosch Motorsport Tool environment and can be configured with RaceCon.
Designed for extreme performance, the Electronic Coolant Pump ECP 160 ensures perfect thermal management at all times. 160 liters per minute at 1.5 bar differential pressure, ultra-high 60 % efficiency, weighing less than 1000 g and being impressively small makes the electric coolant pump a real power package. Spiral housing and air inlet from the 3D printer contribute significantly to the low weight. The ECP 160 is designed to replace mechanical pumps in combustion engines, but can operate in other applications like battery-, electric motor- or inverter cooling, as well. The installation point is flexible because it is no longer limited by packaging restrictions like previous belt driven coolant pumps. The pump is driven by a brushless electric motor that is integrated in the pump housing.
